Please follow the directions below to make sure everything \"behaves.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cem\u003eFIRST TIME Washing (Prewashing):\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe encourage you to\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cb\u003eprewash\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eall of your Cherrywood in a full load of \u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWARM\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eor \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCOLD\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ewater with 2 teaspoons of Synthrapol. If you see a large amount of color in the rinse water, a second wash may be necessary. Synthrapol keeps those released dyes from reattaching onto other fabrics. If you have a front-loading machine, you may need to wash more times or use a laundry tub. Similar colours may be washed together as long as you use Synthrapol, but is wise to make keep very dark colors separate from very light colours while prewashing. Super dark colours may need to be washed several times if there are concerns (depending on your water). We have tested Color Catcher Sheets by Shout: they work well but\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003emay\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eleave a lint residue on the fabric. There is no harm in using both products at once.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cem\u003eSUBSEQUENT Washing (Finished quilts, garments, etc.):\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWash finished projects in Synthrapol in\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCOLD\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ewater for the first several times. Complete the COLD cycle.\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eThis is a good practice to ensure the dyes behave. Synthrapol is an inexpensive product to have on hand to use whenever washing hand-dyes and batiks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003ci\u003eDrying and Pressing:\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRemove fabric from dryer when slightly damp and press with a\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003edry\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eiron. If dry, lightly mist with water and iron to remove wrinkles.\u003cspan\u003e \u003cb\u003eDO NOT let finished quilts\/garments air-dry\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eas this may cause wicking (the dyes are pulled from one fabric into the next if they dry too slowly). It is recommended to dry projects in the dryer. Use steam, or lightly spritz with water and use a\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003edry\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eiron when pressing Cherrywood garments to keep them looking crisp.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e• Cherrywood is preshrunk. It has been washed a minimum of four times and dried in a hot dryer before it is sold to you. Be sure to pre-shrink any other fabrics that you are combining with Cherrywood in a project.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e• Cherrywood is colourfast.
